About Classic Mode

Classic Mode is the heart of Guess the Champ, the daily League of Legends champion guessing game — in the spirit of Wordle and LOLdle. Every player in the world gets the same secret champion, which changes at midnight (UTC).

With each guess, the grid compares seven attributes of your champion against the secret one: gender, position, species, resource, range type, Runeterra region and release year. Blue means an exact match, amber means a partial match and, on the year, an arrow tells you whether the secret champion is newer or older.

Guesses are unlimited and the challenge is to get it right in as few tries as possible — then share your emoji grid with friends without spoiling the answer.

Frequently asked questions

How many champions are in the game?

The full League of Legends roster: every released champion, updated automatically whenever Riot ships a new one.

Is the daily champion the same for everyone?

Yes. The draw is deterministic by date: any player, anywhere, gets the same secret champion until the midnight (UTC) reset.

What does the amber color mean in the grid?

A partial match: for example, one of your guess's positions matches the secret champion's, but not all of them — or one of the regions coincides.
