About Classic Mode
Classic is Guess the Champ's pure-deduction mode. You have a single League of Legends champion to uncover each day, and logic is your only tool: a guess counts less for being right or wrong than for the information it hands back about who the secret champion is. It's the format made famous by Wordle and LOLdle, transplanted into the world of Runeterra.
The grid cross-checks seven attributes of every guess against the champion of the day. They are: gender, position on the Rift (top, jungle, mid, bot carry or support), species (human, yordle, vastaya and so on), the resource its abilities spend (mana, energy, rage, heat and the like), range type (melee or ranged), region of origin in Runeterra, and the year Riot released the champion.
Colors tell you how close you landed. Blue is a full match on that attribute; amber is a partial one — say your guess shares one of two positions, or one of the regions, but not all of them. In the year column, an arrow shows whether the secret champion debuted after or before your guess, slicing the roster in half with every attempt.
Strong players open with champions that split the roster cleanly, then tighten the net: a ranged result rules out half the brawlers, a confirmed region throws out dozens of names. Guess as many times as you need — the bragging right is in solving it in few tries, then posting the colored grid to the group chat without giving the answer away.

Which attributes does the grid compare?
Seven: gender, position, species, ability resource, range type, Runeterra region and release year. Each column lights up blue (identical), amber (partial) or stays dark (nothing in common).
How do I use the year arrow to my advantage?
It turns Classic into a binary search: if the arrow points up, the day's champion is newer than your guess, so discard everything older; if it points down, do the opposite.
Does the roster fall out of date when a new champion ships?
No. The list is synced with Riot's official data, so every freshly released champion is added automatically to both the draw and your search bar.
