About Splash Mode
Splash is a tribute to League of Legends art. Each day, an extremely zoomed-in crop of a splash art hides the champion — and the illustration can come from any of that character's skins, from the base version released over a decade ago to the newest drop in the shop.
LoL's splash arts rank among the most celebrated illustrations in gaming, and the mode becomes a test of observation. The frame starts so tight that little is left: the texture of a pauldron, a relief of scenery in the back, a streak of magic, the dominant color palette. Every detail is an anchor for anyone who has paused to admire these pieces on the champion select screen.
With each wrong guess the framing pulls back a little, handing context back until the whole scene appears. Knowing the skins matters a lot: lines like Star Guardian, PROJECT or Spirit Blossom completely reimagine a champion, and it's the mood of the art, not just the face, that gives the clue.
On a correct guess, the splash appears in full and reveals the name of the skin used — a reminder of how many versions each champion has picked up. If you want the harder challenge, try to guess which skin the art is from before the reveal.

Is the art always the classic skin?
No. The draw includes every skin of the champion that has a valid splash art, so an obscure themed line can show up just as easily as the base look. A mental collection of skins helps enormously.
Does the framing always open up on a miss?
Yes. The zoom starts extremely tight and steps back one notch with each wrong guess, revealing more of the composition until the illustration becomes recognizable to anyone still stuck.
Do you host the images yourselves?
No. They come straight from Riot Games' official public CDN, Data Dragon — the same art repository the game client pulls from. Nothing is rehosted or altered.
